City of Goshen Seeks Community Participation in Growth Plan
How do you see Goshen growing and developing in 10 or more years?
The City of Goshen is in the process of creating a growth strategy, and needs community input to determine general attitudes and perceptions about growth.
The purpose of a growth plan is to provide officials, residents and developers with a tool to drive development in an orderly manner that is consistent with community goals and values. The City is working with Abonmarche Consultants and the Indiana Communities Institute at Ball State University to create the growth strategy.
Over the next few months, the City will collect community input, beginning with a survey launched Friday, August 5. The City also will host a series of listening sessions and focus groups to gain a diverse set of opinions from residents.
“Goshen continues to thrive as a community people are choosing to live in, work in, and visit,” Deputy Mayor Mark Brinson said. “This plan will help guide future growth in a smart and intentional way. It is critical that we carefully manage future growth to preserve the high quality of life we enjoy.”
