Special gathering for the Latino community to talk about the election in Goshen

Saludos! I hope this message finds you healthy and adjusting to our cool and cloudy weather. As you know, colder temperatures mean one thing in Goshen. No, not just winter. It really means that the Nov. 7 City of Goshen election is almost here!

It also means that the Democratic candidates in the election sincerely need your support. So, I’m writing on behalf of the Working for Goshen team to invite you to a special gathering for the Latino community at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24 at the Electric Brew, 118 East Washington Street, downtown.

If you join us, you’ll be able to meet with Latinos from throughout Goshen, share your vision for advancing the City and enjoy strong coffee and tasty treats.

You’ll also meet and hear from the Democratic candidates in the City election: Mayor Gina Leichty, me (Clerk-Treasurer Richard Aguirre), incumbent Councilor Megan Eichorn (District 4), at-large Council candidates Linda Gerber and Sandra Rodriguez-McMastersand Council candidates Matt Fisher (District 1), Rachel Mercado (District 2), Shannan Martin (District 3) and Phil Lederach (District).

Democratic candidates have been campaigning hard for months and have visited with thousands of voters, many of them Latinos. However, Republican candidates are also seeking voter support. Democrats know we will need a strong turnout from Latinos to prevail because at stake is control of the Council and the offices of Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer.

So, we hope you will join us on Oct. 24 at the Electric Brew and bring along a family member or friend. If you cannot make it, please share this invitation with other Goshen Latinos.

The Nov. 7  election will determine if the City of Goshen will retain progressive and pro-immigrant leadership — and continued Hispanic representation on the City Council and at City Hall. Please join us on Oct. 24 and please support the Working for Goshen Team when you vote.

P.S.: Please consider posting the attached invitation on your social media site to let others know about the Oct. 24 meeting.

Gracias por tu apoyo.
Richard R. Aguirre
